Why one piece matters

Most machine carpets stop at 3 or 4 metres wide, so large rooms are covered with several strips and visible joins. A one-piece carpet lies flat, looks cleaner, is faster to fit and has no seams to lift or wear over time. Rooms wider than 5 m need far fewer seams: a 10 m hall takes two 5 m widths and one seam, instead of four 3 m widths and three seams.
