Machine silk with a hand finish
Our Silk 1500 carpets are woven on 1500 reed looms at a density of 4,600. The pile is micro-modal, the soft, high-sheen fibre the carpet trade calls art silk or machine silk. Weaving is only the first step. Every carpet is then washed and shaved by hand, and its fringes are sewn on by hand. This finishing is what gives the surface the depth, softness and luster that buyers expect from a fine handmade silk rug, at a price that works for wholesale.
What the finish changes
Hand-washing opens the pile and brings out the sheen of the modal fibre. Hand-shaving levels the surface so the fine detail of a 1500 reed design reads cleanly, from the medallion to the border. Hand-sewn fringes are attached one by one, so the ends look and hang like those of a traditional rug instead of a machine-cut edge.

The line covers classic medallion and allover Persian designs as well as quieter modern patterns. Many designs are available in more than one colourway. Every design has its own code, so you can quote, compare and reorder without confusion.
Ordering and shipping
Send us the design codes, sizes and quantities. We reply within 24 hours and confirm the delivery date within 24 hours of receiving the full order details. On a first order you pay 30% in advance, and the balance after you receive the production video and the packing list. Prices are EXW. We arrange sea freight, land freight via Mersin or air freight to any country on request and quote it separately. Silk 1500 and Acrylic 1200 can travel together in one mixed container.

No. The pile is micro-modal, a cellulose fibre known in the trade as art silk or machine silk. It gives a silk-like sheen and a soft hand at a far lower price than natural silk.
They are the Iranian trade measures of how fine the weave is. A higher reed and density mean more points per square metre and sharper detail. 1500 reed is the finer of our two lines.
